MARA SHABBA (K) LIMITED is a Private Company Limited by
Shares. Mara Shabba is a Clearing & Forwarding and
Transportation Company which boasts of a wealth of experience
spanning 20 years in the business in East and Central African
region. The company is also dealing in the importation of Gas
and other petroleum products with a heavy presence in Kenya and
the
Southern Sudan where it has been doing successful business with
the Government of Southern Sudan and other private companies.
It
was founded in 2003 and incorporated as a Limited Private Company
in Kenya to carry out the business of clearing and forwarding,
shipping, chartering, town agents, ship handlers, commission agents,
transporters and dealers in petroleum products. With its
headquarters in Mombasa, the regional hub in the maritime and
transport operations, the company has seen its business grow steadily
through a team of qualified and dedicated staff supported by adequate
equipment that have made service delivery a cut above the
rest.
Due to the strategic position and the volume of trade with Southern
Sudan, the Company has a fully-fledged office in Sahara Hotel
off
Airport Road, Juba to coordinate the transactions and operations
between the Port of Mombasa and Southern Sudan.
HUMAN RESOURCE
This department is the backbone of our company. It has ensured
that only professionally skilled staff are hired. The department
is
headed by a human resources manager who oversees the operations
of the entire workforce. We believe that a motivated employee
is an integral part of the success of the company.
Furthermore, a dedicated, professionally trained and well motivated
workforce right from the top management through to all the
cadres in the employment of this company, has been the hallmark
of the success that it has enjoyed over the years. The company
has
employed 70 loyal, responsible and honest staff with their productivity
founded on positive attitude and team work.
We have a one acre yard to facilitate storage of vehicles and
all containerized, conventional and project cargoes, we have specialized
facilities for handling out of gauge cargoes. We combine our value
added services to serve our customers need by need by providing
a totally
integrated solutions. We have professional staff who have a wide
variety of yard management systems as well as our customers ERP
systems.
CONTRACTS
We have delivered assorted vehicle brands including over 300
brand new Land cruisers and 200 Toyota Hilux to the government
of
Southern Sudan. Similarly, military police and fire department
tents and uniforms delivered on time to the government, has brought
the
company's relationship with its client much closer which is a
major boost to the operations. The company has also been working
with
one of the leading construction companies called Ayat which carries
out construction of almost all the major roads in the Southern
Sudan. Additionally, 50 wide-load trailers and 200 Land Cruisers
have been delivered to Ayat Company. Other major companies
who are the biggest customers include Africa Unite which is the
intermediary for the Government of Southern Sudan and Ayat, we
have delivered to them crawler tractor, water tankers, low bed
trailer, Mercedes actross, Mitsubishi fuso dumper, generator,
oil,
textiles furniture and foodstuff. Dynamic Supplies/Natural Gums
Ltd supplied 200 units of Toyotas to Office of the President.
TURNOVER
With an annual turnover of US Dollars ($) 3Million, the company
has a good working relationship with the Government of Southern
Sudan through the transporting lose cargo including foodstuffs
for the military, the Police and other disciplined forces. Since
transportation is key in the business, the company has invested
in US Dollars ($) 8million to purchase 60 vehicles mainly the
modern
Mercedes Benz (Actros) and Scania trucks which have made transportation
of goods much easier and faster.
